Pakistan- LHW seeks protection against harassment

MARDAN: A lady health worker hailing from Gojar Garhi area of Mardan has appealed to inspector general police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Chief Justice of Pakistan to provide her protection as an influential person was harassing and threatening her.

Addressing a press conference at Mardan Press Club on Saturday, the lady health worker (LHW) Neelum alleged that Haider Ali, belonging to an influential family, was threatening her and he also attacked her recently. She alleged that Haider snatched her purse and mobile phone and also stole money from her house by breaking the lock of the door.

The LHW said she is a widow and living a very difficult life with her orphaned children. She alleged that Haider was not allowing her to live with peace with her children. She said the officials of Gojar Garhi police post have also refused to file case against the influential person. She said she has also lodged a complaint in the office of the district police officer (DPO), but no action has been taken so far on her application.

She threatened to commit suicide along with her children if she did not get justice.
