Abdul Hadi, a worker at Wazirabad fuel station in Kabul, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the price of one liter petrol jumped from 49 Afghanis to 50 Afghani and the same quantity of diesel from 45 Afghanis to 46 Afghanis.
However, Ahmadullah, a liquefied gas seller in KololaPushta area of Kabul, sold one kilogram of the commodity for 46afs, registers no change in its rate.
The prices of food items almost remain stable.
Food Traders Union head, FazalRahman said the price of 49 kilograms of Pakistani sugar declined from 1,530 Afghanis to 1,520 Afghanis.
He said a 50-kg of Kazakistani flour cost 1,070afs, 16 liters of Khurshid ghee 1,020afs and 24kg of Pakistani rice 2,000afs, no changes have recorded in the prices.
Meanwhile, Noor Ahmad Khairkhwa, a tea seller in Kabul Mandavi, said a kilogram of Indonesian green tea cost 280afs and the same amount of African black tea 300afs -- same prices as last week's.
Ahmad WaliPanjsheri, who owns a grocery store in Dahn-i-Bagh area, sold a 50-kg sack of Kazakhstani flour for 1,170afs, a 49-kg bag of sugar for 1,700afs, 24-kg of Pakistani rice 2,200afs a 16-litre tin of ghee for 1,100afs, one-kg of Indonesian green tea for 300afs and the same amount of black African tea for 350afs—higher than wholesale rates.
The price of Russian gold has dipped.
Haji Fawad Ahmad Salehzada, a jeweler in the Timor Shahi area of Kabul, said the price of one gram of Russian gold was decreased from 1,950afs to 1,850afs. But the price of the same quantity of Arabian gold remained stable at 2,400afs.
Qazi Mir Rahman Safi, head of Sara-I-Shazada Moneychangers Union, said that one US dollar accounted for 71.45afs and 1,000 Pakistani rupees for 596afs against last week's 70.85afs and 594afs.
He said that the value of Afghani currency was usually declined during the holy month of Ramadan
High demand for some food items during the holy month of Ramadan and purchasing these items on US dollars from abroad are the reasons of the Afghani currency fall.
He said that DAB previously was offering US dollars to the market thrice a week but it recently fallen the offer to twice in a week, which he added was another reason of the Afghani currency fall.
Aimal Hashwar, the DAB spokesman, confirmed it offered the US dollar to the market twice a week but said it has increased in the amount of the money.
He said that the bank made the decision to prevent time consumption and congestion of customers in the bank.
