Sri Reddy controversy: Pawan Kalyan booked for using 'forged' video
27 Apr 2018
In what has come as a rude shock to Tollywood actor and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, a case has been registered against him in Hyderabad for using 'forged' evidence to target media outlets.
Kalyan had taken to Twitter to slam several media houses for telecasting a video in which Sri Reddy has made an objectionable comment on his mother.
Here's all about it.
The news channels had aired the muted version
Details
The case was registered against Kalyan after Gundelly Rajesh, member of Telangana Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ), lodged a complaint against him.
He stated that the news channels had telecasted a muted video whereas Kalyan had posted the unedited original version on Twitter.
Rajesh further said that the media houses have received repeated threats from the actor's fans.
Kalyan has been accused of fraud, forgery and cheating
Context
In his complaint to the Banjara Hills police, Rajesh had mentioned, "Pawan Kalyan and others have resorted to this crime by fraudulently and dishonestly committed forgery of the electronic document."
"It was illegally downloaded from the website without obtaining any consent and was showcased as genuine for the purpose of cheating and harming the reputation of journalists in general," he added.
Reddy dragged Kalyan into the casting couch debate
Fact
After her semi-nude protests against the prevalence of casting couch in Tollywood stirred up a controversy, Reddy demanded Kalyan's reaction on the same. Unhappy with his response, she then used an unparliamentary word against his mother.
