DOHA: Indian Cultural Centre (ICC), under the aegis of Embassy of India, hosted powerful performance by two eminent artistes from India Subrata De, Sitar artiste and Vidhushi Veena C Seshadri, a Bharatanatyam Dancer; both are empaneled artistes of Indian Center for Cultural Relations, Govt of India (ICCR) and graded artists of Doordarshan and All India Radio.
They performed Sitar and Bharatanatyam for the community members at ICC Ashoka Hall on Tuesday. Tabla Master Santosh Kulkarni from Skill Development Center accompanied and performed together with the Sitar Maestro Subrata De.
The program started with a welcome address and felicitation of the artistes by ICC General Secretary and Acting President Juttas Paul, who applauded artistes for their commitment to spread the art form among the expatriate community in Qatar. He also said that it is ICC's stated objective to promote Indian culture and rich traditions among the expatriate and local community in Qatar.
ICC Head of Cultural Activities Vishal Mehta introduced the artists and ICC Head of Finance Girish Jain conducted the proceedings. Head of Membership and Counselor Services K S Prasad proposed the vote of thanks.
Both artistes appreciated and thanked ICC for providing such a platform for them to perform. The performance was well received and appreciated by community members.
