Facebook to pledge transparency in political ads for UK

(MENAFN) Facebook's chief technology officer is set for an appearance at a parliament committee to deliver evidence, as he plans to make a pledge for making political advertising in Britain clearer.

Mike Schroepfer intends to stress that Facebook is to be set for ads to be approved in due course of the 2019 local elections in England and Northern Ireland.

It comes after the social network company already delivered a similar pledge for such an action in the United States later this year.

The chief technology officer is currently being interrogated, with the questioning being in line with an investigation on fake news opened by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee.
