Pakistan- JIT says Naqeebullah's murder was an act of terrorism

(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing the murder of Naqeebullah Mehsud in Karachi has prepared its report in which it has stated that the murder by former SSP Rao Anwar was an act of terrorism.

The JIT headed by Additional Inspector General Sindh Police Aftab Pathan declared in the report that Naqeebullah Mehsud and Sabir and Ishaq, who were killed alongside Naqeeb, had no criminal record.

The report said Rao Anwar issued a false statement in the media that Naqeeb and three other persons killed in the encounter were terrorists. It said the DNA reports confirmed that all the victims were shot dead in separate rooms from a very close range and then their bodies were put together. The JIT further said Rao Anwar was present at the time of the incident and he did not provide any proof of his innocence after arrest.

The JIT will present its charge-sheet before the court.

Naqeebullah Mehsud, a 27-year-old native of South Waziristan, was killed in a fake encounter by a police team headed by Rao Anwar in Karachi on 13 January.
