10 security personnel killed in Quetta attacks


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): At least 10 policemen have been killed and another 15 wounded in two separate attacks in Pakistan€™s southwestern Balochistan province.

A suicide bomber drove his motorbike into a police vehicle on the airport road in Quetta on Tuesday evening, killing seven Law-enforcement officials estimated 20 kg of explosives were used in the attack. The policemen came under attack while returning from the security duty for the visiting president of Azad Kashmir.

Policemen and paramilitary soldiers rushed to the blast scene and cordoned off the area. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.

Half an hour earlier, three security personnel were killed and six others injured in the Mian Gundi area of the provincial capital, where two suicide bombers tried to storm a check-post.

But the Frontier Corps personnel fired at the attackers, who detonated their explosives, wounding eight security officials. The attackers were killed in an exchange of fire.
