Turkey is still facing a terrorist threat from Syria, the Turkish media quoted Prime Minister Binali Yildirim as saying April 25.
'Today, all terrorist organizations, including the "Islamic State", are a real threat to the entire region,' Yildirim said.
"Proceeding from the principles of national security, Turkey launched the Operation Olive Branch against terrorists in Syria," he said.
Yildirim added that Turkey ensured not only its own security, but also brought stability to Syria's Afrin district within Operation Olive Branch.
On Jan. 20, the Turkish Armed Forces, together with the Free Syrian Army, launched the Operation Olive Branch in Afrin, Syria.
On Aug. 24, 2016, Turkish Armed Forces, with the support of the Syrian opposition, launched the Euphrates Shield Operation against the IS militants and liberated the city of Jarabulus as well as the city of Al-Bab in northern Syria.
