Family of missing maid in Saudi seek to meet employer

(MENAFN- Asia Times) The son and brother of a missing Filipino domestic worker in Saudi Arabia are looking to meet with her employer in an effort to find out what happened to her.

Nilda Bongar, who went to Jeddah in May 2016 to work as a maid, has been missing since September of that year. Bongar's employer reported to Saudi police that she had run away, GMA News reported.

The woman's family sought the help of the Philippine government to find her. Her son Dan Mark Bolgar and her brother Ric were accompanied in Saudi Arabia by a representative from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration and an agent from Bongar's employment agency.

Dan Mark Bongar said he and his uncle wanted to help search for his mother and intended to speak to the employer to get a clear picture of what had transpired.

A representative from Bongar's employment agency will assist the two men while they are in Saudi Arabia.

'We will help the family and the consulate. We will help to find the mother and we will [ask] the employer to meet the family of Nilda,' Bongar's agency said.
