Pakistan- Three consecutive blasts martyr eight policemen, injure many in Quetta


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) QUETTA: At least eight police personnel were martyred and fifteen others injured in three suicide bombings in Quetta late Tuesday evening.

According to Inter Services Public-Relations report, two suicide bombers were killed at Mian Ghundi area while they tried to attack a Frontier Corps post near Western Bypass in which eight FC personnel were injured.

However another bomber detonated himself near a police truck on Airport road as a result eight policemen were martyred and several others were injured.

The bomb disposal squads reached on both spots and cordoned off the area. The injured persons were shifted to the hospital where they are currently being treated.

A search operation has been launched in the two areas and investigation is underway.

In a separate incident, five security personnel sustained injuries on Tuesday afternoon as an improvised explosive device went off on Zarkani area in Dera Ismail Khan.

The injured were identified as Ismail, Abid, Khuram, Nazeer and Sadiq who are currently being treated at Combined Military Hospital Dera Ismail Khan.

However another incident took place on the same night, two frontier constabulary personnel were injured as unidentified men hurled hand grenade at a check post while they were patrolling on Sharki Circular road in Dera Ismail Khan.

The Rescue 1122 team was dispatched and shifted the injured to district headquarter Dera Ismail Khan.
