4 writers declared winners of Golden Reed Prize

(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) KABUL (Pajhwok): Four writers were declared as winners of the 2018 edition of Golden Reed Prize at a recent event in Kabul, marking International Book Day.

At the function in Book City, Mahtab Sahel, Massouma Gharaney, Nazif Takal and Ismatullah Zaheer were adjudged as winners of the prize.

€œThe chapter of chevelure€ - a poetry collection by Mahtab Sahel - depicts femininity without censorship. In this work, love is seen from an earthly being€™s point of view.
€œConfidence€, the book of Massouma Gharaney is a story for children on self-confidence, showing that one does not need material means to be good to others.

€œDripped Silence€ is a poetry collection by Nazif Takal. With its simple language and short verses, the poems are deeply rooted in Pashto poetic tradition while having a nuance of the western poetry.

€œThe recluse poet of love and beauty€ by Ismatullah Zaheer is an essay on the life and work of the well-known poet Mulla Atayee. This book is an excellent example of modern Pashto critique.

During the event, Afghan writers paid tribute to the famous Tajik poetess Enayat Khjaeva (aka Farzana Khojandi). A diplomat from the Tajikistan Embassy received the award on behalf of Farzana
Khojandi.
