Lebanon: Hezbollah member killed in gas explosion


(MENAFN) On Tuesday, a Hezbollah member was killed in a gas explosion in the southern Lebanese port city of Sidon, the Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation International (LBCI) reported.

The victim, identified as Bilal Hassan Abdo, "is a member of Hezbollah and was killed in a house accident," the LBCI quoted Hezbollah sources as saying.

The report said that "Abdo has died as a result of a mysterious explosion in Haret Sidon."

The National News agency (NNA) said that Abdo was killed in an explosion of a household gas cylinder in Haret Saida in Sidon.

Abdo died in the Labib Medical Center where he received medical treatment after he was seriously injured in the explosion, the NNA report said.
