Pakistan- Petition seeks PHC action over alleged use of money in KP Senate election


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: A petition has been filed in the Peshawar High Court (PHC) seeking action over alleged use of money in the Senate election in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The petitioner, Gohar Rehman Advocate in his petition sought action against people involved in give and take of money in the recently held Senate election in KP. The petitioner said the Upper House of the Parliament has been made a mean of business by people involved in horse-trading.

The petitioner in his petition has also referred to issuance of show-cause notices to 20 MPAs of a political party on the allegations of receiving money in the Senate election and counter-allegations of the MPAs on the party leadership. He prayed the court disqualify the Senators elected through the use of money.

The petition has been filed in the PHC at a time when different parties, particularly the PTI, are hurling allegations and counter allegations over horse-trading in the Senate election.
