Turkey: Children's Day celebrated by Turkish, Chinese children


(MENAFN) The Turkish National Sovereignty and Children's Day have been celebrated in Istanbul by kindergarten students from both countries.

On the the Istiklal Avenue in Beyoglu district, 570 children have joined together in a parade with celebratory colorful outfits.

The parade has been joined with 20 children from Chengdu in southwestern China who were asked to attend the celebration as special guests, as they marched to Taksim Square.

The children were said to have been escorted in the celebration by chief of the Beyoglu, Ahmet Misbah Demircan.

Turkish kindergartner Iskender Calayir commented on the event "this year Chinese children joined us, and we are very happy to see them here."
