Gelizon was arrested in 2016 in a police's anti-child pornography operation at a flat in Kowloon's Tsim Sha Tsui where he lived with his parents and younger sister.

Officers recovered 32 photos and 138 video clips that Gelizon had downloaded from a child pornography website. These were stored in 22 files recovered from a notebook PC that the defendant owned and used exclusively.

Prosecutors submitted a folder of photos and images from the videos to the court. These included the images of children aged from 18 months to 15 years old in erotic poses and sexual acts.

At his first video-recorded interview with police, Gelizon admitted that the downloaded material was only for his viewing and he did not share them.

The defense lawyer asked for leniency, saying a psychiatric report was necessary as his client had been under 'tremendous stress' due to an unknown fear.

Judge Issac Tam ordered him detained pending a psychological report and psychiatric assessment. He will be sentenced on May 7.
