Student hit by NATO forces spark protest in Kabul


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) KABUL (Pajhwok): Dozens of people on Sunday protested against NATO forces over killing a school student with their military vehicle in the capital Kabul.

The incident took place in Bibi Mehro area of Kabul Sunday afternoon.

Yama, an eyewitness of the incident told Pajhwok Afghan News, €œA vehicle of foreign forces ran over a school student who was passing the road, the boy was killed in the accident,€

He said that the foreign forces convoy did not stop after it crashed the boy and left the area. Dozens of local people and students later took to streets in protest to this incident and they asked for justice.

Yama said that the road was blocked for some time after the incident happened.

Hashmatullah Stanikzai, Kabul police spokesman, said that the boy lost his life in an accident with foreign forces vehicle.

Police are investigating the accident and more details would be shared later with the media, he added.

The NATO Resolute Support (RS) mission confirmed the incident, saying the student was wounded and currently in stable condtion.
