Palestinian death toll reaches 41 in Gaza's rallies

(MENAFN) On Monday, a Palestinian succumbed to wounds he sustained by Israeli gunfire during Great Return March on border of the Gaza Strip, according to the health ministry.

The new martyr brings the death toll to 41 Palestinians martyred and hundreds injured by Zionist regime's gunfire since the protests began on March 30.

"Tahrir Saeed, 18, from Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip, died of his head wounds on Monday," ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qidra said in a statement.

Tens of thousands of demonstrators converged 30 March on the Gaza Strip's 45-kilometer-long (28-mile) eastern border with Israel to demand their right to return to their ancestral homes in historical Palestine. In anticipation of the mass demonstrations, Israel deployed thousands of troops along the border. In addition to the 41 martyrs, the attacks injured nearly 2,000 victims.
