Egypt marks major growth in exports to EU

(MENAFN) Egypt's commodity exports to the EU market have recorded a major growth in 2017, Trade and Industry Minister Tareq Kabil revealed.

The Egyptian exports were declared to have reported a rise by 21 percent, settling at around 8.1 billion euros last year from 6.7 billion euros in 2016.

Exports to the EU were said by the minister to have exceeded the 8 billion euros target, marking a major step forward in trade and investment ties between both the EU and Egypt.

The Egyptian minister also stated "the European Union is the first economic and commercial partner to Egypt, as the EU is the most important export market for Egypt, and accounts for 22.7% of Egyptian exports to foreign markets."
