Sherpao opposes restrictions on Afghan citizens


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): A senior Pakistani politicians says travel restrictions on Afghan citizens have helped India attract traders and businessmen from the neighbouring country.

As a result of the curbs, Afghan entrepreneurs had started importing goods from Indian markets, Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Chairman Aftab Sherpao said.

Addressing a news conference here on Friday, he noted the Afghan citizens were increasingly travelling to India for inexpensive and standard medical treatment.

The QWP leader asked Islamabad to address the long-running grievances of Pakhtuns and acknowledge their sacrifices in the war on terrorism. He also stressed the early merger of tribal areas with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
