(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Qatar University (QU)'s Centre of Community Service and Continuing Education has celebrated ISO 9001 certification for quality management systems.
This comes in recognition of the centre's 'continuing commitment to quality and excellence in management operations, QU has said in a statement.
The certificate was presented to Centre of Community Service and Continuing Education director Dr Rajab Abdulla al-Esmail by Bureau Veritas country chief executive Selim Kseib in the presence of QU president Dr Hassan al-Derham, French ambassador Eric Chevallier, Bureau Veritas business line manager (System Certification Services) Vishal Bhat and sales manager (System Certification Services) Makram Abou-Fakherddine, as well as QU leaders and staff.
In his remarks, Dr al-Derham said: 'Through such certificates, we aim to maintain our standards of highest quality. As a higher education institution, Qatar University seeks to align its academic programmes with the highest standards. In this regard, the organisation has been successful in its accreditation initiatives, earning the endorsement of numerous leading international accrediting bodies.
'Additionally, the university strives to achieve certificates in recognition of excellence and high quality. In this context, we appreciate the hard work of the centre's members to achieve this important step and for maintaining the highest standards for stakeholders and clients.
Chevallier noted, 'This certification is a demonstration of quality and excellence. Congratulations! Qatar University and the French embassy in Qatar set up a high-level joint committee. This committee will establish a roadmap for future education and research collaborations between Qatar University and the best French universities and research institutes.
Dr al-Esmail said: 'As part of our commitment to lifelong learning and customer focus, the centre has developed and implemented a quality policy to maintain high training standards while focusing on modernisation and technology. This achievement demonstrates the centre's commitment to high standards and our continuous focus on delivering outstanding continuing education programmes to the Qatari community.
