(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: Inspector General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Salahuddin Mehsud Friday told the Supreme Court of Pakistan that police security has been withdrawn from 1,769 unauthorised persons on the directives of the apex court.
A three-member bench of the apex court heard public interest cases at the Peshawar Registry during its two-day visit to Peshawar.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar appreciated the KP police chief and said he deserves a salute over his good job.
Mr Mehsud told media outside the court that the court's remarks meant appreciation for the entire Police Department.
The chief justice also expressed satisfaction over the performance of KP Chief Secretary Azam Khan. The chief secretary assured the court that he will make efforts to deliver quick results in short period.

Justice Saqib Nisar also took notice of quacks in KP and summoned Chairman Healthcare Commission Asghar Khan.
The chief justice grilled Asghar Khan saying that he was receiving a huge sum of Rs500,000 in the head of salary, but his performance was not up to the mark. He directed the Healthcare Commission chairman to take action against thousands of quakes in the province who are playing with the lives of people.
Justice Saqib Nisar also expressed astonishment over appointment of a matric-passed person as a doctor in a major hospital of Peshawar. He said why inquiry was closed against the said fake doctor in the Hayatabad Medical Complex. He ordered re-initiation of inquiry against him.
- WOMAN GETS HAQ MAHAR AFTER 48 YEARS
In another case pertaining to the Haq Mahar of an elderly woman, the Supreme Court was told that she was unable to get her right from her in-laws for the last 48 years.
The Chief Justice ordered the relevant member to ensure that the woman gets her Haq Mahar. The woman broke down after getting justice after 48 years and thanked the chief justice for listening to her complaint.
- CJP ADDRESSES CHARSADDA BAR
After completion of hearings in Peshawar, the chief justice reached Charsadda where he inaugurated Charsadda Judicial Complex.
In his address to Charsadda Bar Association, Justice Saqib Nisar said the country's system will not work if the judiciary failed to deliver. He said the nations which work through ad-hocism cannot progress. He said the nations build by developing personalities, not by establishing big buildings.
The chief justice said time has arrived for the country's organisations to deliver. He said the civil suits should be resolved in months, not in years. He said everyone of us is responsible for delay in dispensation of justice. He said the apex court will sit in Charsadda if any human rights case appears there. He lamented that 18-year-old cases are pending with the courts.
The chief justice was also expected to visit the District Headquarters Hospital Charsadda.
