Four soldiers killed in Saudi check post attack


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: Four security personnel were shot dead, while four others were wounded in firing on a security check post in Saudi Arabia on Thursday.

The official SPA news agency of Saudi Arabia reported that the incident happened in Asir province. Three soldiers died on the spot in the attack. Two attackers were arrested by the Saudi authorities while the third was killed while trying to escape. Another soldier was killed in the firing of the fleeing suspect, while four others were injured. The SPA reported that the suspects have been identified and all of them are residents of Saudi Arabia. However, the names of the suspects were not revealed.

The attack happened at a time when the coalition of Muslim states led by Saudi Arabia are fighting a war with rebels in Yemen, which also shares a border with Asir province.

The rebels in Yemen have also launched several missile attacks on Saudi Arabia recently.
