IMF: Brazil to register annual major budget surplus by 2022

(MENAFN) The International Monetary Fund (IMF) released a report with a forecast of Brazil recording an annual primary budget surplus by 2022, jumping into a rebound.

The IMF had however estimated Brazil last year to recover enough for a primary surplus to be witnessed in 2021.

Brazil declared a week ago its plan to suggest keeping the estimation of primary deficit in public accounts at around USD41.1 billion for next year.

The debt volume in Brazil is to settle at 87.3 percent of the GDP this year, compared to 84 percent last year, with a projection for a GDP surpass in debt that reaches 90 percent, as indicated in the IMF's Fiscal Monitor report.

"By postponing the reform, stability is also postponed," the IMF suggested while appealing for a vote on social security reform to be carried out.
