(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said has conferred Al Nu'man Military Order 'Second Class' on Admiral Sir Philip Jones, UK's Chief of the Naval Staff in appreciation of his efforts and contributions in strengthening military ties between Oman and the UK.
The Order was handed over to Admiral Jones by Sayyid Badr bin Saud bin Harib al Busaidi, Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs when he received him in his office at Mu'askar Bait al Falaj,on Tuesday.
The meeting was attended by Rear Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis al Ra'eesi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman, the British Ambassador to Oman and the military attaché at the UK Embassy in Muscat.
His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said has also conferred Oman Military Order 'Third Class' on Col (retd) Nigel Knocker in appreciation of his efforts as Ex-Chairman of the Sultan's Armed Forces Association.
The Order was handed over to Col Knocker by Sayyid Badr bin Saud bin Harib al Busaidi, Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs when he received him in his office at Mu'askar Bait al Falaj,on Tuesday.
The Order's handing over ceremony was attended by Lt Gen Ahmed bin Harith al Nabhani, Chief of Staff of the Sultan's Armed Forces.
