(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The State Council delegation, led by Chairman H E Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Mantheri was received by Andrej Babiš, Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, on Wednesday.
The State Council delegation is on an official four-day visit to the Czech Republic.
Babiš expressed hope that the visit will contribute to the consolidation of good relations between the Czech Republic and Oman and expand the fields of cooperation between them, stated a press release.
He appreciated the efforts exerted by the sultanate under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said for regional stability and the enhancement of international peace and security.
Babiš stressed the keenness of the sultanate to develop its relations with the Czech Republic and enhance cooperation with it in all fields. The State Council chairman talked about cooperation between the two countries, especially in economic, trade and investment aspects, pointing out to the availability of investment opportunities in many sectors, and the advantages and incentives for investors.
The meeting was attended by the State Council delegation.
The Omani delegation was also received by Radek Fondrachik, Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament. During the meeting, they discussed cooperation between the two countries, especially in the parliamentary field.
H E Dr Mantheri said that the sultanate is keen to strengthen its relations with friendly countries, stressing the role of parliamentary diplomacy in achieving this. Further, he highlighted the role of the Council of Oman within the scope of the state of institutions and expressed his hope for further cooperation between the Council of Oman and the Czech Parliament in the future.
The meeting was attended by the State Council delegation and a number of members of the Czech House of Representatives.
Also, the Omani delegation met Czech Culture Minister, Ilja Šmíd. They discussed boosting cultural relations.
H E Dr Mantheri highlighted the importance of culture and its role in strengthening bonds among people, deepening communication between countries, contributing to deepening the dialogue and improving common understanding among people.
He said that Oman has a deep cultural heritage, involving people from various civilisations. The Minister of Culture of the Czech Republic said that his country seeks to build bridges of cultural communication with Oman.
The meeting was attended by officials of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.
The official visit will conclude on Thursday.
