The sultanate represented by the Ministry of Tourism promotes Oman's tourism at ATM 2018


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Dubai- The Ministry of Tourism will represent the Sultanate of Oman at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) taking place at Dubai World Trade Centre from 22-25 April 2018.

The Sultanate's delegation will be led by Her Excellency Maitha Saif Al Mahrouqi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Tourism. This year, the official show theme for the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2018 will focus on responsible tourism, including current sustainable travel trends. The Sultanate participates in the ATM annually, as it is considered to be one of the largest international gathering specialized in tourism in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Major contributors and decision-makers in tourism-related activities participate in the ATM; namely — airlines, hotels, shipping companies, conference centers, hotels, resorts, tour organizers, senior executives in the tourism sector and travel agencies.

Haitham Mohammed Al-Ghasani, Assistant Director General of the Tourism Promotion Department stressed on the importance of the participation in this international exhibition, 'As part of the Sultanate's National Tourism Strategy 2040, the Ministry of Tourism seeks to introduce the sector's latest developments and the most recent launched services, projects and facilities of the tourism industry, such as opening the new passenger terminal at Muscat International Airportand launching the Electronic Visa. It also aims to promote the Sultanate's unique cultural heritage, the pristine environment and terrain diversification that will allow the tourist to experience the destination. Therefore, the Ministry is keen on promoting the Sultanate through this platform to attract international investors and tourists'

He added that, 'The Ministry's participation will focus on highlighting Oman as all year round tourist destination especially for the GCC tourism market; further, a special focus will be given to promote tourism in summer season such as the Khareef (autumn) Festival in Salalah; and other most prominent offers that visitors can avail from various tourism establishments and hotels. The summer period in particular can be a perfect time to visit this multi-faceted country that offers a monsoon season in Dhofar governorate and cooling mountain escapes, fun filled water sports experiences for families and an incredible array of cultural and heritage experiences'

Additionally, at the ATM's Oman's pavilion, representatives will provide recent developments that played a significant role in increasing the number of tourists based on the services and facilities that the Ministry of Tourism provides in various tourism destinations. A total of 25 companies and tourism establishments will participate in this year's ATM, the list includes Arabian Experience, Al Fawaz Tours, Grand Hyatt Muscat, Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort, Atana Hotels, Crown Plaza Duqm & Salalah & OCEC, Khimji's House of Travel, Hormuz Grand, The Chedi Muscat, Golden Tulip Hotels, Al Shanfari Hotels & Resorts, Al Siraj Hospitality, Aitken Spence Resorts, Bahwan Tourism, Barakah Travel Management Company & The Guide Oman, Oman Airports Management Company, Six Senses Zighy- Bay Resort, Arabian Explorers, Sama Resort & Spa, Dhofar Municipality, Royal Opera House, Kempinski Hotel Muscat and Al Bustan Palace Ritz-Carlton, Khasab Tours.

This year, ATM will include a number of events for travel and tourism's professionals, and will also witness the participation of experts and leading personalities in the tourism sector, who will discuss and review various key issues related to tourism over the four-day forum.

Arabian Travel Market first opened its doors in 1994 at the Dubai World Trade Centre with 52 nations, 300 exhibitors and 7,000 trade visitors. 25 years later, ATM now facilitates $2.5 billion in industry deals and attracts 2,500 exhibitors from 153 countries and over 28,000 influential visitors. Beyond the event, ATM creates personal and business opportunities providing quality contacts, content and communities.
