Al Gergawi stated that the UAE dedicates the Hope Makers Initiative to every Arab citizen, who is capable of facing their challenges and promoting positivity in their community while pointing out that the initiative aims to encourage Arab youth to spread the culture of optimism and hope and combat pessimism and hopelessness, as well as to be productive and creative in their communities.

He stressed that the initiative's goal is to highlight examples of those who are positive in serving their nations. But through the Hope Makers Initiative, we aim to highlight examples of humanitarian giving, who our youth can learn from and make their role models," he added.

Regarding the lighting of the citadel, Al Gergawi said, "Egypt has a historic position in the hearts of every Arab. Egypt, with its giving, goodness and the Nile, has been a symbol of hope since the dawn of history. The citadel at Salah Al Din Al Ayyubi is a symbol of persistence and determination, which should be remembered by every Arab."

"We aim, through the lighting of the citadel, to remind everyone, of the importance of hope, and to remind of the Arab youth about role models who give for nothing in return, serve their country with positivity, and help their government to build their community," he further added.
