(MENAFN) Brazilian footballer Neymar confirmed he was not intending to play for Paris Saint-German this season while he invests his energy to prepare for the 2018 World Cup to be held in Russia.
The forward has been inflicted with a fractured cracked fifth metatarsal in his right foot in late February, preventing him from participating in matches ever since.
Speaking at a sponsor's event in Sao Paulo, the football star said "there is no specific date for my expected return but the last exam is schedule for May 17 and, depending on my recovery, I'll be free [to start training] after that."
He then commented on competing in the World Cup, saying "I want to come back strongly and I'm working as hard as possible. I've been waiting for four years for the World Cup to come around."
