(MENAFN) A French court has giving a mother an eight year sentence in prison,for murdering five of her newborn babies and then keeping them in a freezer.
Romana Canete,aged 37,has requested "forgiveness" while crying at her trial in Bordeaux, south-west France.
She confessed her crime as she gave birth at her home in Louchats,nearly 40km from Bordeaux,in a bathtub,then leaving the babies to drown.
A teenage daughter of Canete has discovered a baby in a bag in the freezer.
