(MENAFNEditorial) (TRINIDAD EXPRESS) – DOMINIC Guevarra, whose face was horribly disfigured in a shooting incident which killed his wife in their Sangre Grande home, can see and hear.
But the devastating injuries he sustained to his jaw mouth and nose have left him unable to speak and breathe on his own.
Guevarra is being regularly visited by police officers who want to find out what happened on February 26 when he and his wife Margaret Ragoobar-Guevarra were shot in their home at Jarasingh Village.
Ragoobar-Guevarra was dressing to go to her job as a school teacher when she was shot and killed.
Guevarra was also shot but survived the single shotgun blast to the face.
He underwent emergency surgery within hours of the shooting and has since been recuperating at the Intensive Care Unit of the Port of Spain General Hospital.
He breathes through a tube that has been surgically inserted through his windpipe, and is being fed through intravenous fluids, the Express was told.
He is warded under police guard, and is visited by his children.
