The Integrated Transport Center Implements 2723 Standard Parking Bays in Al Khalidiya, Al Bateen and Al Rowdah


The Department of Transport’s (DoT) Integrated Transport Center (ITC) in Abu Dhabi announced the implementation of 2723 standard parking bays in Al Khalidiya, sector W17-01, Al Bateen, sector W17-03 and Al Rowda, sector W58 starting from March 25, 2018 as part of the center’s endeavor to raise the level of road safety in the Emirate. To that regard, the ITC stated that 1054 standard parking bays were implemented in Al Khalidiya, sector W17-01 including 11 pays were dedicated for the determined ones and two fire hydrant bays,. The sector is located in the area bordered by Al Falah in the north, Hazza Bin Zayed Street in the South, Mubarak Bin Mohammed Street in the east and Khalifa Bin Shakhbout Street in the west. The parking bays in the area are dedicated to villa permit holders along with other limited paid parking bays for the visitors. In Bateen, sector W17-03, 500 standard parking bays were implemented in the area that is bordered by Al Falah Street in the north, Hazza Bin Zayed Street in the south, Arabian Gulf Street in the east, Al Bateen Street in the west. The sector included the implementation of 500 standard parking bays two of which are fire hydrant bays, and one is dedicated for the Determined Ones. The parking bays in the area are dedicated to villa permit holders along with other limited paid parking bays for the visitors. As for Al Rowda, Sector W58, 1169 standard parking bays were implemented, 13 are dedicated for the Determined Ones. The area is bordered by Embassy Street in the north, 17th Street (Zayed Sports City) in the south, Saif Ghobash Street in the east and Arabian Gulf Street in the west. The Center assured that the aim of such implementation is to offer long-term solutions to parking bays issues in which lead to maintain the traffic flow and decrease illegal parking issues. The Center also said that it is illegal to park on yellow and grey markings, in the middle of the road, double-parking, Drop off and Pick up points, pedestrian crossings, access points and fire hydrants. In addition to that, inspectors will be available in the aforementioned sectors to assure following the regulations.
