Taiwan:sword attacker put in jail for attempted murder charges


(MENAFN) Taiwan court gave seven years sentence to a man who deployed a stolen samurai sword to attack a guard of the President Tsai Ing-wen's office,as he held threatening messages of murder.

The man,Lu Chun-yi,was Carrying the flag of China as he attacked the security force guard ,who was blocking him from getting inside the complex,and cut him in the neck, face,and hands,before he was detained.

Lu declared that he intended to raise the Chinese flag in the presidential office,and carried hand-written letters involving threatens to "behead" Tsai.

Prosecutors confirmed that In the letters,Lu incvolved hopes that Beijing will make Taiwan a part of China again.
