Pakistan- Zalmi cruise into PSL final


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: Peshawar Zalmi moved into final of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) by defeating Karachi Kings by 13 runs in at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore on Wednesday night.

The match was reduced to 16 overs a side due to rain. Zalmi after being invited to bat first scored 170 runs for the loss of seven wickets due to brilliant batting of Kamran Akmal who scored 77 runs, while Fletcher scored 34. Ravi Bopara tool 3 wickets for Kings.

Kings could score 157 runs for the loss of two wickets in the allotted overs. Joe Denly scored 79 runs, while Babar Azam scored 63 runs. Hasan Ali and Sameen Gul took one wicket each.

Kamran Akmal was declared player of the match. He broke the record of fastest half-century of the PSL. He achieved this milestone in just 17 balls.

After Imad Waseem's and Shahid Afridi's injuries, Muhammad Aamir led the Kings. He was extremely good with his bowling by conceding just 16 runs off his four overs in a high scoring match. However, he failed to lead the team to victory.

Reigning champions Zalmi will now face former champions Islamabad United in the final of PSL-3 at National Stadium in Karachi.
