Gulf Air CEO Maher Salman steps down


(MENAFN- Bangladesh Monitor) Dhaka : Maher Salman Al Musallam, CEO of Gulf Air has resigned from his position, according to a statement released by the company.

After serving as Deputy CEO since 2012, Musallam was named CEO only 13 months ago in May 2016. He had managed to reduce Gulf Air's annual losses by 88 per cent in three years, after embarking on an aggressive cost cutting plan that relied on IT and route planning to improve expected profitability targets.

Musallam had also offered his resignation in January 2016 but had provided no motive at the time.

Gulf Air announced the appointment of its new Board of Directors on May 14, 2017.
