Egypt sees 4.2 percent drop in national budget deficit


(MENAFN) Egypt has reported a drop in its national budget deficit to 4.2 percent during the first half of the fiscal year 2017-2018.

The figures were declared in a press release by the Egyptian Planning Ministry, as it compared it to a 5 percent fall in 2017.

The budget deficit was revealed in January by the Finance Ministry to have recorded 4.4 percent during the first half of 2017-2018.

Egypt has also seen a 10.9 percent drop in the overall budget deficit during fiscal year 2016-2017, from a 12.5 percent overall deficit.
