(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- A documentary titled, Oman Adventure Has an Address was screened at the Grand Hyatt Muscat last week. The 60-minute long film was screened under the patronage of H E Dr Abdulmunim bin Mansour bin Said al Hasani, Minister of Information, in the presence of a number of officials.
It took almost two years to shoot and edit the film. Shot with drones, 4K footages, gimbals and stabilisers, the film presents an aesthetic view of the deep valleys, caves and mountains of the sultanate.
It has been co-produced with the help of the Ministry of Information, Omani Adventure Travel Company and explorer Khalid Abdulmalik and directed by French citizen Pierre Boutte. Director Boutte said, 'It has been my maiden visit to Oman and me and my team were pleasantly surprised by the virgin lands of the country. Oman is a hidden treasure. There were many challenges during the shoot like we didn't have the GPS and also sometimes the caves were very narrow and our drones could not manage through.'
Abdulmalik explains how he decided to study the mountains of Oman. 'The film began as a story in the mid-1990s when I moved to the sultanate. I was interested in exploring the marine environment in general. But in the sultanate I discovered Oman's natural secrets, which lies in the high mountains and its deep valleys.'
He added that he took help of professionals to explore the caves of Al Tahiri in Fins, in the wilayat of Quriyat. 'The documentary reviews a man's relationship with Oman through his interactions with residents of Oman. The film shows how the Omani man was able to adapt to his exceptional terrains,' he said.
