Seven killed after bomb attack in Syria's Afrin

(MENAFN) On Monday, at least seven people were killed as a bomb exploded in the Kurdish city of Afrin in Syria, said a Human Rights center said.

The bomb was allegedly planted by the Syrian Kurdih People's Protection Units (YPG) after their withdrawal from the city, according to a statement released by the Democracy Center for Human Rights in Kurdistan (DCHRK) a copy of which was sent to BasNews.

"The explosion occurred in the center of Afrin," said the statement.

The center also said that the Syrian rebels continue to abuse people and loot properties.

Turkey-backed FSA militia swept into Afrin town on Sunday, raising their and Turkish flags in the town center and declaring full control after an eight-week campaign to drive out Kurdish YPG fighters. Mustafa said civilians still in Afrin town were facing threats from the Turkey-backed groups.
