GAC Honda to recall imported vehicles in China

(MENAFN) The top quality regulator of China said GAC Honda, the joint venture between Honda and Guangzhou Automobile Group, will recall 50 imported vehicles due to defective airbags.

According to the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ), the recall will involve imported Fit hybrids made between July 5, 2012 and March 1, 2013.

The AQSIQ said that airbags facing the front passenger seat on these vehicles might malfunction when they expand, causing the gas generators to break, and posing safety risks to drivers and passengers

The company will begin the recall on April 12, replacing the gas generators in airbags for the affected vehicles free of charge.
