Oman- Mwasalat announces two routes for passengers to new Muscat airport from March 20


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Coinciding with the opening of the new Muscat International Airport, Mwasalat announced start of services on two new routes to assist travellers to and from the new airport from Tuesday. The buses will ply on the Ma'abela and Ruwi–new Muscat International Airport routes.

The company had bought a number of buses recently that have been specially designed for carrying big luggage. The buses are also equipped to serve people with disabilities. The operation of the new routes comes as part of the company's pursuit to provide a sustainable public transport system that will help develop Oman's cultural front on different levels. Mwasalat will provide promotional prices for the new route with a discount of 50 per cent on the prices of tickets, starting from Tuesday till June 20.

The new routes will be operational round the clock on all days of the week including public holidays. The service will be available every half hour. The bus operating on the Ma'abela–new Muscat International Airport will stop at the following stations: Ma'abela bus station, Al Khoudh, Al Hail, Muscat City Centre, Burj Sahwa, old Muscat Airport and new Muscat International Airport.

The Ruwi–new Muscat International Airport will have the following stops: Ruwi, Wadi Adai, Wattayah, Qurm, Sarooj, Omantel bus station Al Khuwayr, Ghubra, Azaiba, Mwasalat Bus Station and new Muscat International Airport.

Mwasalat and Oman Airports also signed an agreement recently to operate round the clock taxis to and from the new airport. The company is also working with Oman Airports and the ROP to reduce the number of vehicles that ply without commercial permits to ensure organised and safe transportation in the country.
