Telecom service provider Vodafone has launched a new prepaid pack of Rs 21 under which it is offering users unlimited 3G or 4G data access for a time period of one hour.

The prepaid pack will be valid for a duration of one day.

This directly takes on Reliance Jio and counters its data packs with similar competitive pricing.

In comparison, Jio offers a pack of Rs 19 under which users can avail 150MB of 4G data.

While this is a weaker option in front of Vodafone's unlimited data, it can be used for a longer time period of one day as opposed to Vodafone's one-hour availability.

Jio's option also includes unlimited voice calls, 20 SMS, and a free subscription to Jio apps.

Even though the two offerings are similarly priced, their usage is quite different.

If a user wants a high volume of data for a short period of time, Vodafone's Rs 21 pack is a good option, but if he also wishes to use voice and messaging services for the entire day, Jio's Rs 19 pack is the way to go.
