Pakistan- Owners, labourers demand govt to restart stone crushing plants in Khyber

(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) BARA: Owners and labourers in Khyber Agency on Saturday demanded of the federal government and governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to allow the closed stone crushing plants in the agency.

There were around 80 stone crushing plants employing more than 3000 labourers that were closed due to militancy and now peace has been returned but plants were still closed.

The labourers said that former governor Sardar Mehtab promosed to open the plants but so far no step could be taken in this regard. Stone Crushing Plant Association Chairman Ibrahim Afridi urged the government to allow them to start their plants so that hundreds of labourers could earn a living there.

'These plants were once source of income for thousands of people and we urged the government to allow and help owners to restart them,' said Masood Khan, a labourer.
