Australia, Asean to cooperate against terrorism


(MENAFN) Australia and Asean have inked a deal for lending a hand in tackling terrorism and extremism funding.

The agreement has come with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull raising concerns over the use of technology in plotting, funding and carrying out terrorism attacks.

The MoU signed between the countries entails cooperation to take place in putting together and launching counter-terrorism legislation.

Both countries are to also launch a workshop about using digital evidence in inquiries along with prosecutions of terrorism and international crime.
