FIFA: World Cup in Russia to be held with VAR

(MENAFN) FIFA President Gianni Infantino declared the 2018 World Cup in Russia to be carried out with video assistant referee technology (VAR).

The decision has been reached not minding persistent protests that are coming from inside as well as outside the football world.

"We are going to have in 2018, for the first time, a World Cup with VAR," FIFA President declared before confirming "this has been approved and we are really very happy with this decision."

He then explained "what we want is to help and to give the referee the possibility to have extra help when he has to make important decisions, and in a World Cup we make very important decisions."
