Oman- Sultanate and Germany endorse joint declaration on stroke care


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- A Joint Declaration of Intent on the Dissemination of a Quality-Assured Stroke Care was signed at Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque on Monday. It was signed between the Ministry of Health (MoH) and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Transport, Agriculture and Viniculture (MOEATAV) of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate of Germany.

The declaration was signed by H E Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Obaid al Saeedi, Minister of Health and Dr Volker Winning, MOEATAV minister.

The declaration aims at creating a platform for the two sides to further discuss the potential areas of collaboration and the potential projects and services in a manner that will be mutually beneficial to the sides.

H E Dr Saeedi pointed out that signing the declaration would create more opportunities for training Omanis in the field of stroke.

The declaration stipulated on establishment and certification of stroke care and case management and the organisation of clinical research in accordance with high international standards. In addition to developing benchmark criteria for high-quality stroke care and training especially for nurses in the sultanate in accordance with the European standards.

It also stipulated on strengthening cooperation between the two sides and exchanging practical experience regarding stroke care via telemedicine, as well as through organising conferences, symposiums or conventions.

Furthermore, promoting cooperation between their respective healthcare institutions in the area of scientific research and development, as well as all theoretical and practical training activities were also discussed.
