Egypt exports to Russia hit USD504.6mln


(MENAFN) Egypt's merchandise exports to Russia grew 35 percent during 2017, compared to the prior year, Tarek Kabil, Minister of Trade and Industry said on Saturday.

The value of Egypt's exports to Russian market hit USD504.6 million during 2017, compared to USD374.1 million during 2016, Kabil added on in a statement.

Rise in exports was credited to a growth in vegetables and fresh fruit exports by 39%, reaching USD375.5 million in 2017, as well as a 115% growth in food products to hit about USD21 million, Head of the Egyptian Commercial Service Ahmed Antar said.

Egypt's exports to Russia include potato, orange, engineering commodities, ceramic, food industries, medical industries, and furniture, Nasser Hamed, head of the Egyptian Commercial Office in Moscow concluded.
