Pakistan- PSL: Zalmi make short work of Qalandars

(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: Peshawar Zalmi defeated Lahore Qalandars by 10 wickets in 13.4 overs in a one-sided match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in Sharjah on Saturday.

Lahore Qalandars elected to bat first after winning the toss and despite having a good start, collapsed to 100 runs in the 18th over. The first wicket for Qalandars fell on the score of 42 in 4.4 overs, and then there was a queue of wickets. Liam Dawson and Hasan Ali took three wickets each, Wahab Riaz bagged two, and Sameen Gul got one wicket.

Liam Dawson was declared player of the match for his brilliant bowling.

Mohammad Hafeez, who led Zalmi in absence of injured Darren Sammy, said after the match that they knew Lahore Qalandars' weaknesses as they are quite one-dimensional. 'We knew it was a matter of just one wicket,' he said.

Qalandars skipper Brendon McCullum said some tough calls were needed to be taken in next matches.
