(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Feb 28 (KUNA) -- Director General of Kuwait's Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Mekrad expressed Wednesday his pride and admiration to Kuwaiti firefighters, for their hard work, sacrifices, and courage to protect lives and property.
A statement by KFSD Public Relations and Information Department office said the remarks by Al-Mekrad comes on International Day of Civil Defense and firefighter Day, which will begins Thursday (tomorrow) under the slogan "Civil protection and national institutions against disasters." Al-Mekrad added firefighters are celebrating this day with various countries and international organizations, who are committed to collaborating with national institutions in confronting disasters and challenges by embodying strategic and fieldwork with different bodies through team spirit.
Al-Mekrad noted on firefighter's sacrifices and civil protection in the face of various accidents and disasters, including their efforts and abilities with all sincerity and dedication to protect citizens and residents living in the country.
The International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO) member states recognizes March 1 of every year as a day to the efforts of civil defense forces to safeguard the safety and well-being of societies from the danger of natural and human disasters. (end) ays.mb
