Honorable life lies in end to inherited crises: Ghani

(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): President Ashraf Ghani on Saturday said the ongoing crises in Afghanistan had been inherited from the past and their solution would pave the ground for national unity and an honorable life.

Addressing a ceremony marking the distribution of ownership documents to owners of land in unplanned areas in western Herat province, Ghani said: €œStable and permanent property ownership is our priority and there should be no word of unplanned areas in our dictionary.€

He said every Afghan should feel their properties were secured and no one could harm their investments. €œEvery Afghan woman should know that the Sharia law of Prophet Mohammad and the Quran have given them the right of property ownership€, he said.

Ghani said Muslim women were given property rights about 1,300 years ago when women in the west did not have that right.

€œIt is the fundamental right of every Afghan to live in a corner of Afghanistan and the people of Afghanistan are like one body€, the president added.

Insisting on reforms in the government, the president said a good government meant people have food, houses and safety so they invest in their children.

€œWe were Muslims, are Muslims and will remain Muslims forever, we were, are and will be Afghans forever, no one has granted us our nationality,€ he said.

Talking to participants of the ceremony, he said: €œWe would build the foundation of a better life within the three years efforts if God willing, it will be remembered by generations for centuries.€

However, Ghani said the current crises were inherited from the past and if ended, the people of Afghanistan would have a honorable, legal and unified life.

€œWe took the lives of five generations during the last four decades. The situation turned into one generation giving sacrifices after another, one generation plunging into crisis after another, our message is very simple: ending the inherited crises would be the start of a honorable, legal and unity life with strong national will,€ he said.

Jawad Paikar, head of Afghanistan Land Authority (ALA), told the ceremony said that distribution of ownership documents to unplanned areas was one of his office important programs as it was a permanent solution to illegal areas.

Herat governor Mohammad Asif Rahimi said that 500 people from Herat province received their ownership documents today.

He said the ownership documents distribution would help increase the value of land and prevent land usurpation.

President Ghani thanked people for their support to the TAPI project and said that residents of Herat, Farah, Nimroz, Helmand and Kandahar had promised to maintain security for the trans-regional project.

But he said: €œWhen the Afghan people were busy in TAPI project inauguration, our enemies in Kabul, Lashkargah and Farah provinces once again committed criminal acts by martyring a number of our people,€

He said the enemies of Afghans should know their will for economic development of this would strongly go forward.
