US scientists at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have developed wearable sensors that could help speed up the recovery of stroke patients.
These electronic sensors are designed to be worn on the throat; they can wirelessly send real-time information which can be used by the doctors/therapists to monitor the development of patients' speech patterns and swallowing ability.

This throat sensor is essentially a stretchable electronic wearable tech that measures the patients' speech patterns and swallowing ability and wirelessly sends real-time information to the doctor.
Hence, with continuous readings, doctors and therapists can monitor their patients' progress at home and can target therapies/treatment to specifically improve muscles affected by stroke.
