South Africa: suspects of police station raid die amid gunfire exchange

(MENAFN) South African police have declared the death of seven suspects of a police station raid in the middle of a shooting exchange at a church.

The deceased suspects are believed to be members of the armed squad that raided a police station and murdered six amid the operation.

Police were confirmed by National police commissioner Khehla John Sitole to have set its mind to arrest and charge those in connection with the attack.

The commissioner declared "we made a decision that this is not going to happen in South Africa where the state will be undermined by criminals."
